EV charger installation in Luxembourg: a wallbox fitted by the book, grant included

Charge at home overnight, at 7.4 or 11 kW, without tripping the panel or blowing the bill: All.Electro sizes, installs and registers your charger with Creos, and prepares your Klimabonus grant file.

We answer the phone in under 2 minutes, day and night.

An EV charger is not a big socket. It is a dedicated circuit drawing 7 to 11 kW for hours, usually at night, on an installation that was never designed for it. The right question is not “which brand?” but “what can my supply, my panel and my cable run actually handle?”. That is where we start.

In Luxembourg the installation must be done by a licensed electrician and follow the Creos technical connection requirements (TAB). From 7 kW three-phase — or above 4.6 kW single-phase — the charger must be requested from Creos, the installation is documented by the electrician via the Smarty PRO app, and a Smarty smart meter is fitted by the grid operator. We handle these steps with you, and we hand over the documents needed for the Klimabonus grant application.

What power for your charger?

The choice depends on your supply and your driving, not on the product sheet:

  • 7.4 kW single-phase: roughly 40 km of range per hour — enough for daily commutes and overnight charging.
  • 11 kW three-phase: the home standard, a full battery overnight, compatible with almost every car.
  • 22 kW: rarely useful at home (most cars charge at 11 kW maximum on AC); relevant for businesses and fleets.
  • Dynamic load management: a module that adapts the charger to the household’s consumption, avoiding a supply upgrade.
  • Tethered cable or Type 2 socket, wall or pedestal mounting, vandal protection if the charger is reachable from the street.

What our installation includes

A well-fitted charger is mostly what sits behind the wall:

  • Supply assessment: single or three-phase, available power, spare capacity in the panel.
  • Dedicated circuit from the panel, conductor size matched to the run length to limit losses.
  • Dedicated protection: circuit breaker and type A RCD with 6 mA DC detection, or type B depending on the charger.
  • Mounting, fixing, tidy cable routing (trunking, trench or wall penetration).
  • Commissioning, power setting, real charging test on your vehicle.
  • Creos registration and installation report via Smarty PRO.
  • Invoice and certificate for the grant application, walkthrough of the app.

The 2026 Klimabonus grant for private chargers

Under the 2026 scheme published on guichet.lu, the State covers 50% of the cost excluding VAT of a smart private charging station, supply and installation included, capped at €1,200 — €1,400 for an ISO 15118-20 compatible charger. It is open to owners and tenants alike, with the owner’s written consent. The application is filed on MyGuichet.lu after invoicing; we provide a compliant invoice and the expected documents. For co-owned buildings, a collective smart charging management system is funded at 50% up to €40,000 per building. Current conditions and amounts: guichet.lu.

Co-owned buildings, businesses, fleets

In a shared car park the issue is distribution: collective load management, individual metering, pre-wiring of spaces for future vehicles. For a business it is chargers for staff and visitors, often 22 kW, with supervision and billing. In both cases we start with an assessment of the building’s supply and a conversation with the building manager or operator — that is where the real cost of the project is decided.

Our step-by-step method

  1. Supply assessment

On site: single/three-phase, available power, space in the panel, cable route, charger location.

  2. Quote and choice of charger

Itemised quote within 24 business hours, certified connected charger suited to your vehicle.

  3. Installation and commissioning

Dedicated circuit, protection, mounting, real charging test on your car. Half a day to a day.

  4. Creos registration and grant file

Installation report via Smarty PRO, invoice and certificate ready for MyGuichet.lu.

Frequently asked questions

Can I install a charger on a single-phase supply?

Yes, up to 7.4 kW. Above 4.6 kW the Creos request applies. If you charge a lot, switching to three-phase is priced case by case.

Will the charger trip the main breaker?

Not if it is sized properly. We measure the available power and, if needed, fit a dynamic load-management module that reduces charging when the oven or hob are running — without a supply upgrade in most cases.

How long does the installation take?

Half a day for a charger close to the panel; a day when a long cable run or a wall penetration is needed. The Creos registration is done the same day.

I am a tenant — am I eligible for the grant?

Yes, with the owner’s written consent, under the 2026 scheme published on guichet.lu.

Which charger should I choose?

A certified, connected charger (essential for load management and the “smart” grant), 11 kW if you have a three-phase supply. We fit brands we know and whose parts are available in Luxembourg.
